Making bad credit, good.

When I was eighteen, I received my first credit card offer. It was for students, and was through Visa. I was excited as I penned in my information, in hopes of being approved for it. I was approved for a meager credit line of $200. Wow, I finally was on my way to buying big! I kept at it for a few months, and after moving out of my parents house, I somehow ended up forgetting about paying the bills. Soon what was a half-paid card was now turning into $600 from overcharges and late fees. But before that happened I also applied for a Chase credit card, hoping to help ease the pain of living on my own and being broke after paying off rent and what have you. I was given a line of $250 and was again, on my merry way.

I look back at it now and I regret the fact that I could not take care of such a small credit line. If I had that card now, with the same credit line, I would have no problem paying it off in one shot. It’s because of that stupid mistake of “putting it off,” that I now have to deal with poor credit. I also have a hard time with finding a credit card, and because of that I haven’t had a credit card since I was 18. I’m 21 now. I believe the total debt between the two card is about $1800 which can easily be resolved since either of the companies will take whatever they can get, to just get it over with.

Bad Credit has such an effect on your life. I have a hard time getting approved for student loans. Actually, scratch that, I DON’T get approved for student loans and will only get approved if I have a co-signer.

I’ve been spending a lot of time researching solutions to my problems, and have recently come across badcreditoffers.com . They have made available a simple chart that compares all of their bad credit card offers so that you can see what is offered, what may be required, and then go from there. Including credit cards, they also offer home loans, auto loans (perfect since I’m looking into getting a new car next year), personal loans, and articles on repairing your credit.

I already have a Wii so I won’t be entering, but I’m sure there are people out there who would like to have one but don’t have the budget to buy one. Mario Party 8 is also a really fun game, though you’ll end up having to buy a couple of extra controllers so you can other friends can play each other!

I came across the website when I was looking around for some coupons that I could use when I go grocery shopping. I’m always up for saving a few bucks here and there! It will eventually add up throughout the month, that’s for sure.

I’ve been looking around for a custom logo design for my company. The one I have right now just isn’t cutting it, so I finally started to google around in hopes of finding a designer/firm that is worth the money.

Logoyes.com has a rate of $289 for 3 logos and they’ve done logos for places like HP, Mitsubishi and Caterpillar. I definitely want to go ahead and give them a shot because I was looking through their examples, and I love some of the work they’ve had listed in there. All I need to do is provide them with colors and anything else the logo needs to have, and from there they’ll design three concepts for me.

I think I might also go through them to set up some really nice business cards. I’m not a graphic designer at all, so I definitely think outsourcing to another company is the best route to take–especially when I want a really nice, and attractive logo!

I’ve been looking around for a direct sales business opportunity to just boost business for myself. I ended up coming across Direct Matches, which has like over 650,000 members and is a business networking website. They’ve got eight years of service under their bel.

You can get a free membership through them that provides you with a business profile, free advertising, free classifieds, free networking for your business. I’m looking to just try this out because I really want to expand my business and hopefully gain more clients and whatnot for it. I like that I can get free advertising with Direct Matches–I know that advertising can really help bring in business. People who are looking for the service I offer, see the ad, view the site. They either buy my services, or they know of it and can refer to it later or refer other people to my company if what I have isn’t for them, but may be for someone else.

I’ve never really used a business networking site before, so I’m not really sure what I should expect with this. I just hope that it does work, because it seems like an added benefit to joining this site. I’ll definitely update this post with the results from joining Direct Match! :o)

Comcast

For about a month now, I’ve had Comcast Digital Voice, Internet, and TV. For about a month now, I’ve had Comcast Digital Voice, Internet, and TV. I was excited about getting 6mbps down and 1.5up for the internet speed, but I think I was more excited for getting Comcast On-Demand. Seriously, when I lived in Louisville I had a competitor’s service and used On-demand and basically loved everything about it.

I get to watch CSI whenever I want, catch up on a few tv shows that are on TNT, and I can order movies whenever I want. That’s been a bad thing thus far, because I’ve probably already spent about $25 last month from ordering new release movies, but hey, it was worth it!

I haven’t had much time to really use the Digital Voice phone service though. I’ve got my cellphone, so that’s pretty much why. I do know that my sister is constantly on the phone, and I don’t think she’s had a problem with it at all. The one thing I’ve used the most (aside from the tv) has been the internet. My god, it’s so great to finally be back on cable.

We were previously with SBC DSL, and had the worst upload and download speeds ever. They were so slow, to the point where I just didn’t download anything that was of importance unless I absolutely needed to. We did have a few problems with Comcast off the bat, but it wasn’t their service. We had a bad cable line to our home, and they ended up coming out to replace it a couple of days after we notified them that our internet signal constantly slowed down, and because our TV connection kept crapping out with random channels.

But now things are smooth as pie. The only qualm right now is the router we’re using. It keeps dropping signal on me. I haven’t tested it to see if it’s my location, but I believe my mom said that her laptop (which is right next to it) has been having the same problem. Regardless, I’m sure one call into customer service, and we’ll get a replacement. I haven’t made the call yet, since my mom refuses to do it since she doesn’t know how to describe what’s been happening :P

We’re doing the 3 for $33 a month plan right now, and compared to what we were spending before–we’re saving a decent amount of money. We had SBC DSL+phone, and Dish Network for tv. I HATE Dish network. I can only imagine that we paid maybe $200′ish for all services and whatnot. So far it’s just $100 with Comcast until the promo ends and we’re spending, what maybe $120 or something?
