Best Buy, it’s about damn time.

While I was at work last night, I got a call on my cell and saw that it was an 815 area code. I figured it was Brian, so I ignored it because I knew he’d leave a vm… Sure enough I got a vm, but when I listened to it about an hour later, [...]

While I was at work last night, I got a call on my cell and saw that it was an 815 area code. I figured it was Brian, so I ignored it because I knew he’d leave a vm… Sure enough I got a vm, but when I listened to it about an hour later, it was from Best Buy. Cynthia (probably a CS Manager) scheduled an interview for me for today at 5:30pm. I have to work 3-10:30pm tonight, so she’s going to either have to let me go in earlier today (have to be out by 1:50 so I can pick up Nicolle) or go in tomorrow since I’m off.

This puts me in tough place though because right now I’m full time with Caribou. I work Mondays and Tuesdays at the Tinley store from 3:15-10:30pm. And the rest of the week I close at the Frankfurt store from 3-9:30, or I work mornings over the weekend.

I’d much rather be full time at Best Buy and part time at Caribou. The main reasoning is that I get better benefits, and I like working for BB more… But that’ll depend on what positions they even have open. I just don’t know how to juggle two jobs, but I know that I do want to do this.

We’ll see…

Working

I should’ve left about 10 or so minutes ago, but I figured I could get out to my destination in under 15 minutes, still making me 15 minutes early. Gotta pick up my little sister and two friends from school at 2pm, but cars cannot leave until all kids are in the cars. It’s a [...]

I should’ve left about 10 or so minutes ago, but I figured I could get out to my destination in under 15 minutes, still making me 15 minutes early. Gotta pick up my little sister and two friends from school at 2pm, but cars cannot leave until all kids are in the cars. It’s a pointless set up to be honest, because you end up waiting forever to leave the damn place.

After I drop them off I’ve got work at Caribou from 3-10pm. It sucks that I have to go through training all over again, but I only have to do three training shifts, and I’m done. Wednesday and Thursday I also work 3-10pm. Then Saturday I go in from 9-12pm to work on my Supervisor test, and hopefully I can get the rest of the weekend off.

Mondays and Tuesday I’ll be at the Tinley Park store, and the other four days will be at the Frankfurt store. So I’ll be getting at least 40 hours a week. The nice part about the Frankfurt store is that they close at 9pm, as opposed to 10pm. Sundays they close at 8pm instead of 10pm. Since I’ll be closing most of the time, I won’t have to be worrying about staying “late” for closing, since that store barely gets any business.

Still on the wait for Best Buy to get back to me, because I’d really like to get back to working there… Partly because I miss the atmosphere and selling shit, but I also want my fucking discount back damnit.

Saturday I’m going to be at Amy’s place helping her to sort through an enormous amount of makeup that we’re going to be putting on ebay. I’ll be helping her with ebay, and taking photos, and she’ll be getting some money to help with paying off her car and whatnot. She’s also going to let me take her iBook G4, since she never uses it. I’m not going to keep it, but I’ll be taking it for awhile, heh. I’ll probably take it to work with me, and try to work on a WLAN or something.

Time to run out now, because I just remembered that I need to stop and get gas, since I’m on empty. It’s good to be working again–now I won’t have to worry about being so fucking broke.

It’s been raining almost all day today, and I really don’t want it to stop. Driving was a bit of a pain because my wipers need to be replaced AND smoking was hard since I kept getting wait, so I finally gave up on it. Went into Caribou Coffee today to fill out paperwork and get my schedule set up. I start tomorrow and work all this week from 3-10pm. I’ll be switching between two stores, so I’ll have at least 40 hours a week, which is awesome.

Later on today I’ll be heading on over to Amy’s house to help her fix her desktop. Zach reformatted it but apparently forgot to reinstall some of the network drivers, so right now I’m burning a bunch of the drivers to a cd-r, since my flash drive isn’t large enough (only 128mb). She’ll also be letting me take her iBook since she doesn’t use it. I’m not keeping it, but she’s going to let me take it to fix it up (speed it up rather, I’m sure it just needs a memory upgrade) and I’ll also use that to get online and work on Holdfire Network which so desperately needs to be launched asap.

I’ve also been on a movie downloading frenzy. The other night I got Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire, the Descent, V for Vendetta, and Inside Man. I’ve only got HP and VfV burned, so sometime today I’ll get the rest done. Mom also got into the crazy and bought a cheesy label maker from Memorex. Too bad this laptop didn’t have lightscribe, because I’d use that feature instead, but I’m not complaining.

and whew, I was at Caribou for not even an hour and a half and I REEK of coffee. Time to raid my little sister’s room for her Hollister Autumn perfume which I’m hopelessly addicted to :]

I’ve been so busy lately…

Exactly what the title says. Every day I’ve had something to do, so I haven’t really had a chance to get online to work on my personal site, or even my company. Not only that but I don’t have my computer up here yet (I need to have it shipped from Houston) so I’ve been using my parent’s laptop–which is not that easy to do since I need to give them an arm and a leg to get online. But hopefully I can work with my cousin (who hates me at the moment) to have her ship it out tomorrow so I can get it by the weekend, and I’ll just go out and order or buy an LCD monitor to use right now.

Other then that I’ve hung out with my friends at the White Sox game, hung out with Brian and caught up on life, went shopping and to dinner with my grandparents, went into work for paperwork, and had to pay $233 to get the rear brakes on my car fixed along with tire rotation and an oil change. It doesn’t really fill up the entire week I’ve been here, but today is the first day that I don’t need to be anywhere until later on today–which is to pick up my little sister from high school (today is her first day back), and hopefully hanging out with my best friend Amy. Who knows about that though since she’s been hard to get ahold of and hasn’t really been returning my calls over the past few days.

In the work force I’m now going to be working at Caribou Coffee full-time. It’ll be at the Tinley Park AND Frankfurt store so I can get in as many hours as I possibly can. The one thing I really need to do is work on the pay, because she’s trying to hire me about a $1 less then what I was making at Best Buy–and that pay wasn’t even that great either! I also need to call the Tinley Park Best Buy to see about working in their PCHO or Wireless department, since I sent in my application last night. I also want to go to Tiger Direct to fill out an application to work there as well.

I’ve definitely been having a lot of fun since I’ve moved and am definitely glad that I made the decision to come home.

Oh, and I saw Snakes on a Plane around midnight on Friday morning. Needless to say I was the only girl in the theatre. It was a decent movie, but I definitely wouldn’t pay to see it again. It was just kind of expected as far as the whole… snakes on a… plane… theme, you know? Either way though, I think everyone (being the guys there) just wanted to go there to hear “Get these motherfucking snakes off my motherfucking plane.”
