Rain rain go away

Sorted under Stuff I find on the intertubes on August 28th, 2006

It's been raining almost all day today, and I really don't want it to stop. Driving was a bit of a pain because my wipers need to be replaced AND smoking was hard since I kept getting wait, so I finally gave up on it. Went into Caribou Coffee today to fill out paperwork and get my schedule set up. I start tomorrow and work all this week from 3-10pm. I'll be switching between two stores, so I'll have at least 40 hours a week, which is awesome.

Later on today I'll be heading on over to Amy's house to help her fix her desktop. Zach reformatted it but apparently forgot to reinstall some of the network drivers, so right now I'm burning a bunch of the drivers to a cd-r, since my flash drive isn't large enough (only 128mb). She'll also be letting me take her iBook since she doesn't use it. I'm not keeping it, but she's going to let me take it to fix it up (speed it up rather, I'm sure it just needs a memory upgrade) and I'll also use that to get online and work on Holdfire Network which so desperately needs to be launched asap.

I've also been on a movie downloading frenzy. The other night I got Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire, the Descent, V for Vendetta, and Inside Man. I've only got HP and VfV burned, so sometime today I'll get the rest done. Mom also got into the crazy and bought a cheesy label maker from Memorex. Too bad this laptop didn't have lightscribe, because I'd use that feature instead, but I'm not complaining.

and whew, I was at Caribou for not even an hour and a half and I REEK of coffee. Time to raid my little sister's room for her Hollister Autumn perfume which I'm hopelessly addicted to :]

I’ve been so busy lately…

Sorted under A look into my life on August 22nd, 2006

Exactly what the title says. Every day I've had something to do, so I haven't really had a chance to get online to work on my personal site, or even my company. Not only that but I don't have my computer up here yet (I need to have it shipped from Houston) so I've been using my parent's laptop--which is not that easy to do since I need to give them an arm and a leg to get online. But hopefully I can work with my cousin (who hates me at the moment) to have her ship it out tomorrow so I can get it by the weekend, and I'll just go out and order or buy an LCD monitor to use right now.

Other then that I've hung out with my friends at the White Sox game, hung out with Brian and caught up on life, went shopping and to dinner with my grandparents, went into work for paperwork, and had to pay $233 to get the rear brakes on my car fixed along with tire rotation and an oil change. It doesn't really fill up the entire week I've been here, but today is the first day that I don't need to be anywhere until later on today--which is to pick up my little sister from high school (today is her first day back), and hopefully hanging out with my best friend Amy. Who knows about that though since she's been hard to get ahold of and hasn't really been returning my calls over the past few days.

In the work force I'm now going to be working at Caribou Coffee full-time. It'll be at the Tinley Park AND Frankfurt store so I can get in as many hours as I possibly can. The one thing I really need to do is work on the pay, because she's trying to hire me about a $1 less then what I was making at Best Buy--and that pay wasn't even that great either! I also need to call the Tinley Park Best Buy to see about working in their PCHO or Wireless department, since I sent in my application last night. I also want to go to Tiger Direct to fill out an application to work there as well.

I've definitely been having a lot of fun since I've moved and am definitely glad that I made the decision to come home.

Oh, and I saw Snakes on a Plane around midnight on Friday morning. Needless to say I was the only girl in the theatre. It was a decent movie, but I definitely wouldn't pay to see it again. It was just kind of expected as far as the whole... snakes on a... plane... theme, you know? Either way though, I think everyone (being the guys there) just wanted to go there to hear "Get these motherfucking snakes off my motherfucking plane."

I got in Monday afternoon around 4pm, and since then I've been a busy little bee. Hung out with old friends, went to a White Sox game, spent time with my sister... It's been great.

Gotta make this short though, because I had to cram in work e-mails and personal in a time span of 1.5 hours!

Home Sweet Home

Sorted under A look into my life on August 12th, 2006

There's been alot of premature decisions made in my life lately, that pretty much resulted in me not being 100% happy with my life. Being here in Louisville I thought maybe I'd want to move back here, and try to start over, but I realized how hard that would be for me. I'd end up crashing at houses and working a lot to try to get on my feet again. So I knew what I had to do. I called my friend Amy to talk to her about something that happened today, and told her that I'm going to move back home to the Chicago-area. Needless to say I feel ecstatic about this decision.

I've missed my best friend. Her and I didn't keep in contact when I had moved out and that's one thing that I really regret. And I never regret anything that's happened in my life. So now I just need to figure out how I'm going to get the rest of my stuff from my grandparent's house in Houston. My computer is down there along with my xbox, dvds and video games. I have on me clothes, shoes and other little things that I need for sure. I don't have the money to drive down to Houston to get it, then drive all the way back to Chicago, so I'm going to have to leave it there for the time being. It's really going to suck, because I'm not going to have my own computer up there for awhile.

I wouldn't mind it that much, but I have a business to run that requires me to have a computer and whatnot. Somehow I'll figure something out, so it shouldn't be too bad. I hope that I can get my old job at Caribou Coffee because that'll fill up most of my week and I really love working there. So tomorrow I'm going to call in the morning when Tara is usually working and talk to her about it. Because if I can get that job back when I move up there in the next few days, I can get money rolling in and get my stuff shipped up to me even sooner. I hope this works out as easy as it does with typing it.
